hej tak…

ford motor company signed a deal to sell volvo motors to a chinese conglomerate for 1.8B bones (1.6B cash bones). according to the new york times “The sale of one of Europe’s most storied brands shows how China has emerged not just as the world’s largest auto market in the past year, but also as a country determined to capture market share around the globe.” they are determined, though to keep volvo swedish, so it will remain in the hands of swedish management–the cars will be produced in sweden and china. of course, ford lost money in the deal (it paid 6B bones to acquire it way back when it wasn’t a government owned entity).

let’s just hope they don’t change the logo–people don’t like it when people up and change the logo on familiar swedish brands.
