9021-uh-oh
after 7 long years, an animal shelter group called “zoo to you” finally settled a lawsuit with a donor they claimed owed a lot of dough. tom and marguerite nunn, the donors in question, sued the organization when the organization refused to an accidental donation of $93,447. the story goes like this:
the nunns love the mission of the organization and decided to donate $130 bucks to it. when making the online donation, margeurite nunn says her computer accidentally put her ZIP code in the donation amount field and ended up taking $93,447 bucks instead of the $130. the organization gave them back $30,000 on the spot recognizing that they’d made a mistake but they claimed that they’d already spent the remaining $60,000 on other stuff.
neither party would give the dollar amount for the settlement but they both said they weren’t thrilled with the amount. this might be one reason to live in the northeast where many of the zipcodes start with a “0″.
