as things continue to spiral downward (washington mutual looking for a buyer, morgan stanley stock dropping 24.2% and goldman sachs falling 13.9%) here’s some ways to make/save money:
- instead of dropping $36,000 on a hermes crocodile kelly bag, make your own! the travel the world of hermès section of the hermès website has templates you can print out of their kelly bag. just print, cut, paste and violà.
- enter the movie watching world record contest. nyc’s time square will host the competition from oct 2 thru oct 7 where 8 competitors will attempt to break the record for most consecutive hours spent watching movies. prizes include a lifetime subscription to netflix, a popcorn bowl trophy and $10,000 in cash.
- stick some animals in formaldehyde and auction it off. the golden calf, a bull preserved in formaldehyde, sold for £10.3 million pounds at sotherby’s last week. the kingdom, a shark in formaldehyde, sold for £9.6 million pounds.
