end of an era
remember microsoft encarta? back in the 90s, microsoft’s encarta was replacing the stacks and stacks of books known as the world encyclopedia. we were in awe then that a couple of cds could provide information from antarctica to zebras. well, technology has advanced since then. the internet and sites like wikipedia have make the data on those cds obsolete and microsoft is discontinuing the encrata products. to be honest, i was never a fan of encarta and was surprised to learn that it wasn’t discontinued earlier. but now that I know, i’m a little nostalgic for when times were simpler. i’m not saying that i don’t love all my new techy gadgets but every once in a while, i kinda miss that buzzing modem sound. know what i mean?
