like a mickey d’s fry cook taking over a 3 star michelen restaurant
that’s how the new york times described the debut of lindsay lohan as a creative advisor to the house of ungaro in paris over the weekend. chief executive of ungaro, mounir moufarrige said that he hired ‘linds’ in a deal said to be worth millions was designed to give the brand a kick in the arse. fashion editors and defenders of french fashion considered it a kick in the stomach when they saw models sent down the runway “in loose-fitting jackets that flapped open to reveal that they wore sequin-covered pasties, in the shape of hearts, on their breasts..a few dresses looked as if they had been painted onto the models.”
while linds always draws a crowd, doesn’t sound like the fashion line will do spectacularly well–fashion buyers and editors they ran for the exits as soon as the show was over and didn’t applaud linds when she appeared at the shows end with estrella archs, ungaro’s chief designer (she doesn’t look to thrilled either). don’t fear though, she is already hard at work on the next season’s line, she said “i was here until, like, one o’clock last night.” the back breaking work of a spray tan/leggings/design is never done.
