man’s best friend – available for rental
flexpetz is a new dog rental company currently in NY and LA. according to a NY times article, here are some reasons why you might want to rent a dog:
1. use the dog to meet other people
2. fill a childless void by renting a dog
3. take a dog with you on vacation
maybe it’s just me but i don’t get why any of those are reasons why one would want to rent a dog. if you’re lonely or feel a childless void, i would think there’s better ways to address these issues. i’m an animal lover but let’s be honest, it’s a DOG, not a human being. and maybe it’s because i’ve never owned a dog but i don’t get why you’d want to take a dog with you on vacation. don’t people usually try to find people to take care of their dogs when they go on vacation?
if this dog renting thing is for you and you’re not in NY or LA, flexpetz will soon be expanding to Boston, Washington, SF and London. hmm… maybe i should do a followup story on their expansion into the UK and head to London.
