no worries, the box stuff is not affected
we’re use to fake things – fake designers handbags, fake boobs, fake tans – but did you ever think you might be drinking some fake wine? a dozen wine distributors and traders were recently found guilty in the southwest of france for selling e&j gallo with over 13 million liters of what e&j believe was pinot noir. instead, what they got was wine made from some cheaper regional grape (97 euros for the pinot vs the 45 euros for what they got).
according to e&j, it only affects 2006 and older vintages of the wine from their red bicyclette pinot noir line. at this time, there are no plans to recall the wine since there are no safety issues although a spokeswoman for the winery said “…we will continue to work with the appropriate U.S. authorities to determine any next steps required for potentially mislabeled Pinot Noir in the marketplace.”
