planet in peril part trois?
the world’s population of predator sharks is rapidly diminishing and according to researchers, it will have a domino effect on the ecosystem–populations of lower-level predators will overeat and wipe out their own prey–sorta like when a chicken eats its own eggs.
this story reminded me of life at or above sea level, more specifically–in the financial district. for example, the sub prime loan market goes to hell in a hand-basket and bear stearns gets bailed out (gobbled up) by jp morgan chase. the oil speculators drive up oil prices, oil companies makes a fortune, airlines teeter on the verge of extinction. with as many as as many as 40K jobs vanishing –is it time for anderson cooper, lisa ling, and sanjay gupta to do some reporting, not from the remote jungles of africa, but the jungle that is wall street? do we need al gore to come to the rescue?
