there was some grumbling last week as news spread that some wall street firms like goldman sachs and citibank received allocations of the hn1n vaccines. your doctor, hospital and local clinic might be out of them but if you work at one of these banks, you’re in luck. people have since questioned this calling it capitalism at work but it all makes sense after reading a news story in which lloyd blankfein, the chief executive of goldman sachs, explains how banks serve a “social purpose”. “We help companies to grow by helping them to raise capital. Companies that grow create wealth. This, in turn, allows people to have jobs that create more growth and more wealth.” he goes as far as to call it “god’s work.”
