will you throw in a hummer too?

hummer after receiving $45M in funds from the government taxpayers,  citigroup spent $1.7M lobbying congress for favorable positioning on things like the BAILOUT.  bank of america considered this behavior inappropriate and made the decision to halt lobbying activities.

at the same time, the auto industry argued that changing emission standards would increase financial duress.  while ”they were working toward president obama’s goal of reducing fuel consumption…rapid imposition of stricter emissions standards could force them to drastically cut production of larger, more profitable vehicles, adding to their financial duress”.

is it really possible to add to the financial duress? like above, i think the bank and auto execs are totally giving us the not-so-sacred bird.
