what if frenchy had this option?
college students around the country are beginning to major (or minor) in entrepreneurship. according to the kaufmann foundation which funds innovation on college campuses (it’s donated almost $50M to 19 higher ed institutions) more than 5,000 entrepreneurship programs are offered at two and four colleges and universities (in 1985 there were only 250); and there are at least 500 full-scale majors, minors or certificates in entrepreneurship (in 1975 there were just 104).
an article called “dreamers and doers” published in the new york times, gives us an inside view into life as a budding entrepreneur. at babson college, a business school in wellesley, massachusetts, students in the “e-tower” spend monday nights writing business plans and use the rest of the week to hammer out operational plans. one student is working on a plan to import a hangover cure pill for the notorious binge drinking scholars. the article references mark zuckerberg (facebook founder), bill gates, and the founders of google sergey brin and larry page as roles models for these students. it doesn’t mention though, that all of these dudes dropped out of school to pursue their dreams (mark and bill didn’t finish undergrad, sergey and larry quit their phd programs).
i think frenchy would have been the creator of the farrah or the rachel. i mean, if she was real that is.
