who’s next, mrs. butterfield?
here’s an interesting story sent to us by a reader–the sun-maid raisin girl has had some work done.this is interesting because since its inception, the sun-maid girl’s image has been fiercely protected by the company to maintain wholesomeness–she was “was inspired by a real person – lorraine collett petersen, who in 1915 lived in the fresno, california, area where the company began its operations. life then was simpler, less hectic – and red sunbonnets were the fashion of the day.” i guess they decided to go the kevin federline route (he’s from there too) cause she got quite a work-over–a little more than grapes and sunshine. check out one of the ads from the campaign.
