call it a fashion statement
get out those face mask folks because according to a study from purdue university, this is the week when the infection rate for the dreaded swine flu is at its peak. absent of vaccinations, “the model predicts that the peak wave of infection will occur near the end of October in week 42, with 8% of the population being infected during that week.” because the vaccinations are just now starting to get into the hands of physicans, it’s really going to be too late. the study predicts that by the end of the year, 57% of the population will be kissed by the swine.
no need to go running scared though. even though more than half the population will infected, only an estimated 25 will get sick from it. and if you do get really sick from it, count yourself lucky that you have something in common with anderson cooper.
