dear sir

nigeriahow many time have you gotten an email that started with “first, I must solicit your strictest confidence in this transaction.” you don’t have to read much further to know it’s some request asking you to help someone retrieve some money from some bank. thanks to Microsoft and nigeria’s economic and financial crimes commission (efcc), you don’t have to read too many more of these emails. the efcc has formed the “eagle claw” operation and even though it’s not fully operational, it’s arrested 18 high profile “cyber crime syndicates.” hard to believe that people fall for these email scams but it was once estimated that us citizens, like this woman, lose over $200 million per year on these emails scams.
