180’s story about w’s inapproriate behavior reminds me of a recent speech martin bashir of abc’s nightline gave at a recent asian american journalist association awards banquet.
after an introduction by abc news correspondent juju chang, bashir follows with “I’m surprised that JuJu didn’t mention my inside leg measurements because she seems to know everything about me.” um, gross.
and to support his speech about cultural identity, he says “I’ve never been in an environment with so many beautiful Asian babes in my life. In fact, I’m mightily relieved that the podium covers me from the waist downwards. I’ve been having trouble all evening.” don’t know about you but that’s way more information that i’d need at an awards dinner.
unfortunately for bashir, a clip of his speech has been making the rounds. according to his wikipedia profile, he once suffered a head injury… maybe that explains it. either way, it’s a good thing nightline’s got some good writers.
