glue factory reference would be inappropriate
a u.s. open polo companionship was postponed this weekend in wellington, florida when 14 horses from one team suddenly became fatally ill. after two horses collapse and vets were unable to revive them, five others started to fall. the seven eventually all died at the polo club and seven more died as they were being transported to a veterinary hospital. unconfirmed reports are saying that another seven may have died as a result of the yet unnamed cause. although it’s clear that poison was the cause, vets are not yet sure if it there was foul play involved or something else they were unknowingly exposed to. autopsies and blood test are being done to find the cause of death.
the match was postponed and it’s unclear if the lechuza caracas team will compete at all in this year’s tournament. polo teams are usually made up of 40-60 horses who are switched out throughout the game and with 14-21 horses down, they might not have enough horses.
