if you can’t do the time…
three people (two of them together) did things that may be considered offensive, all three had to face ‘the law’. considering no one has gone to jail in either country yet for almost bringing down both economies, one may say the sentences are a little harsh but who are we to judge? we just report the news you can use. here are the crimes:
desk graffiti
- the place: nyc, usa
- the crime: 12 year old alexa gonzalez was arrested and taken away in handcuffs by the po-po after she was caught by her spanish teacher scribbling on a desk (her message of love for her friends wasn’t appreciated).
- the time: school suspension, a trial in family court, community service, and an essay reflecting on lessons learned.
- the aftermath: the department of ed admits they overreacted with an arrest; alexa and her mom are suing the department of ed for 1M bones.
p.d.a.
- the place: dubai, uae
- the crime: ayman najafi charlotte adams were convicted of public kissing and drinking. they were ratted out by a woman offended by the behavior.
- the time: 1 month in prison, suspended passports, fine of about 270 bones.
- the aftermath: the couple swear that they only greeted with a kiss on the cheek which is permitted by law and are appealing.
both of these stories make me wonder what will happen if they ever find those bears.
