is this considered regifting?

the return of adopted russian boy by an american family is turning into an international incident. the family put the 7 year old boy on a plane back to Russian last week with a note that read “”this child is mentally unstable. He is violent and has severe psychopathic issues.” the adoptive family said they were lied to by the orphanage workers last year when he was adopted. according to the family, the boy kept a hit list of people he wanted hurt (is that even possible for an 7 year old?!). the boy has told a russian hospital spokesperson, where the boy currently is undergoing a check up, that his adoptive mother was “bad” and “did not love him.”

russia’s foreign minister is now calling for russia to freeze all adoptions to the us, saying there is a need to out our an agreement before any new adoptions are made. the russian president dmitry medvedev called it “monstrous” and said it was illegal.

That headline is absolutely hilarious!

saw some coverage on the news that sadly, this returning of adoptee kids is very common, especially kids from the eastern bloc

You’d think someone who wants to adopt a child who has probably seen nothing but war and atrocities would understand there’s going to be an adjustment period.
Americans think of children as accessories, not people.

you would think. as the often quoted statement goes: you go through more scrutiny to adopt a dog than you do to have a kid. just an awful story all around.
