in my office, i have noticed a lot of people milling about chatting bracket strategy so it was no surprise for me to find that american businesses loses an estimate $1.2 billion in productivity during the ncaa tournament. it’s a little late but if you still need some help on how to fill out your brackets, here’s some interesting stats:
- there is a correlation between distance travel by a team and their outcome
- #1 seeds won everytime in the first round for the last 16 years
- #2 seeds have only lost 3 first round games for the last 16 years
- the last 18 champions have been seated # 4 or higher
