stick ‘em up
with the downturn of the economy, i’m a little concerned for about the potential rise in crime. with the pool of stupid criminals already quite large, i’m not sure society is ready for more.
here are some examples of what i’m talking about:
- 5 people take part in a robbery of a personal safe based on information that the safe can contain up to $70,000. turns out the safe only had $465. all 5 were arrested. one criminal made a cool $80 from the heist.
- two guys steal a car to be used as a getaway car, hijacked a security van with $1.3 million dollars, and then leave $786,000 in the behind. why did they leave more than half behind? because the getaway car was a compact car, it was too small to fit all of the money.
- a restaurant in inyokern, ca allows customers to inscribe messages on dollars bills and hang them on its wall. some guy payed a court fine with the marked bills tipping the sheriff’s dept off to the robbery. 5 have been arrested on suspicion of stealing the bills off the wall.
i admit, the first and second robberies just lack planning. how many movies have they made where criminals spend days planning this stuff?
the last, well that was just plain dumb. which goes back to my point, i worry about the dumb criminals.
