that’s not ronald reagan
for years, organizations have worked to get the bust of ronald reagan up on mount rushmore next to roosevelt, lincoln, washington, and jefferson. greenpeace decided to skip over a few decades and add barack obama’s face to the mix, this time on a banner calling on the obama to be a leader, and not a politician by stopping global warming.
the hoisting of the banner coincided with this week’s g8 summit where the president is meeting with other world leaders to discuss issues like the environment and the economy.
for this, 11 people were arrested at mt rushmore and charged with misdemeanor crime of climbing on the monument. it could ultimately cost them $5,000 and six months probation if found guilty.
i wonder if, upon hearing about this, obama had any good jokes to tell. american presidents are known for telling jokes at these events.
