the most important meal of the day
everyone seems to be getting into politics this time of year. even saveur, a foodie magazine, has an article of what “newsmakers and news breakers” are consuming for their most important meal of the day. some interesting ones:
john mccain – coffee, cereal and fruit.
barack obama – four to six eggs, potatoes and wheat toast with the occasional fruit, bacon and oatmeal.
bill hemmer (fox news america’s newsroom) – starbuck’s latte with whole milk and two bananas.
john roberts (cnn american morning) – cereal at 3am, coffee throughout the show and an omeleette with hash browns when the show ends at 9am.
tom brokaw (nbc meet the press) – coffee, usually with granola and yogurt with the occasional scrambled eggs and bacon.
bob schieffer (cbs face the nation) – coffee with cold cereal in the summer and oatmeal in the winter.

true hemmer fans know that he goes to the same starbucks each morning by the office. i don’t recall the timing but it’s probably down to the minute with him. the local place is probably just the weekend neighborhood stop.

1. weird to see tom brokaw’s name next to “meet the press”. i’m still not over russert.
2. i thought hemmer drank coffee at some local place in the village?
