tlc, the home to such riveting and exciting programming as “say yes to the dress“, “jon and kate plus 8” and “little people, big world” has decided to pass on re-upping their deal to broadcast the miss america pageant. even after the best showing ever in january on cable, tlc would not re-engage and declined to explain why.
chairman of the miss america organization sam haskell isn’t worried though. he said that “TLC chose not to pick up a three-year option to renew the contract and wanted to renegotiate a new deal for less money and fewer years” but that “four networks, ranging from broadcast to cable channels, have expressed strong interest in airing the pageant.”
