researchers at the university of denver have confirmed the fact that couples who actually make time to hang out for the sake of fun quality time have happier marriages. there were some other interesting items of note from the study :
- fun and happiness are highly correlated. even more so for men. men are more likely than women to call their spouse their best friend.
- individual leisure activities, such as watching tv or using the internet, don’t build positive connections.
- males and females have different definitions of what a date is…females’ definition is much more planned in advance and the husband puts more effort into it. for a guy, grabbing coffee is a date.
i wonder how much or little the amount of talking influences the perception of fun time.
