title of story: “Women, Want a Healthy Marriage? Marry Man Uglier Than You, Study Says”
first sentence of story: “The best marriages are those where women marry men who are less attractive than themselves, research has found. ”
excerpt from body of story:
“Psychologists who studied newlyweds found men who were better-looking than their wives were more likely to be unhappy and have negative feelings about their marriage.
in couples where the wife is more attractive, both partners tended to be very content.”
is it just me or is the title of the article directed at women as if women had more a responsibility than men in sustaining a “healthy” marriage?
here’s some suggestions I have for a new title:
- Ugly Men – It’s not what you look like, it’s what the study says.
- Attractive people must ignore the uglies if they want a healthy marriage.
- You ugly, me ugly. Let’s get hitched!
- Thank goodness you’re as good looking as me.
