andy needs a new sidekick
changes are afoot at cnn
- ali velshi, cnn’s chief biz correspondent, will be anchoring a new show from 1-3pm (still unnamed as of yet). this is an interesting move for velshi, from biz correspondent to general news anchor.
- kyra phillips will be replacing heidi collins as cnn newsroom anchor from 9-11am.
- heidi collins’ contract was not renewed
- previously announced rick tase-me sanchez will get a new show, rick’s list from 3-5pm. why is it anchors like heidi collins get dumped why sanchez continues to strive?
- erica hill of ac360 is leaving cnn for cbs where she’s been co-host of cbs’ early show saturday edition. more is expected next week on her expanded role. no word yet on who will get the empty seat next to anderson cooper.
all changes will be effective jan 18 with the exception of erica hill’s move.
