hanging up his suspenders

larry king announced today that this fall, he will end his nightly program larry king live. in a statement to his audience he wrote “talked to the guys here at CNN and I told them I would like to end Larry King Live, the nightly show, this fall and CNN has graciously accepted, giving me more time for my wife and I to get to the kids’ little league games.” while he’ll still do the occasional special, he said it was time to hang up the suspenders.

the show is the longest running program with the same host and time slot, according to the guinness book of world records.  enjoy your retirement, larry.

I guess this is not surprising after all the rumors of cnn signing piers morgan for the 10pm slot. It’s shaping up to be an interesting evening lineup with the addition of spritzer at 8pm.
