after jennings, russert, and snow, i’m pleased to report that a guy is simply retiring from his post. it was announced today that abc’s sam donaldson will be stepping down at the end of this week after 41 years at the network. about retiring, donaldson, 74, said “some people leave the business bitter, feeling they’ve been cast out, or they hang on too long…i don’t ever want to get in that position.” the former co-host of “this week” and “primetime live” will continue to appear as a panelist on “this week” each month and will also work for abc radio.
i wonder if in a few years, he’ll pull a brokaw and will get himself back in the game.
