moving ahead

at tim russert’s memorial, tom brokaw joked that the largest contingent at the kennedy center was made up of “those who think they should be his successor on ‘Meet the Press’.” who knew that he meant himself. after a brian williams hosted mtp this past sunday, it was announced that brokaw would moderate the show until the end of the elections.

apparently brokaw volunteered for the job. he and russert spoke weekly after each show, brokaw shared his opinions with russert on what “worked or that didn’t” work. although brokaw doesn’t offer any names on who would eventually fill the role, he believes he will have some say and that steve capus, president of nbc news, will “want to know what i think.”

mtp is the number one rated (and our personal favorite) sunday morning political program followed by abc’s this week with george stephanopoulos. it will be interesting to see how, if at all, the ratings change in the next few weeks.
