no love for the GOP
federal records of donations by journalist and “newsroom categories” staff show some interesting facts:
· 235 journalists donated to democrats, 20 to republicans
· the ratio of democratic donations to republican donations from journalist is 15:1, $225,563 to democrats and $16,298 to republicans
· of reporters, correspondents, news editors, anchors, newspaper editors and publishers (also known as newsroom categories staff), 311 donated to democrats and 30 donors to republicans. $279,266 to democrats, $20,709 to republicans.
it should be noted that many individuals did not report their employers (since many news organizations forbid newsroom employees from making political donations) so this information is not comprehensive of all those who work for a news organizations.
most notably surprising is that fox news show no donations to the republicans. not one dollar. makes me wonder whether the fox conservative agenda is just playing to the ratings, whether the fox employees are afraid of the wrath of rupie and don’t list their employer with their donations or if the employees just don’t believe in putting their money where their mouth is.
