not larry, the other one
the king of cnn’s big board, john king, was featured in the providence journal as he was gearing up to cover the conventions. with his beginnings as a intern at the associated press in providence, king eventually moved to cnn where he started as the senior white house correspondent. three years ago, king was named cnn’s chief national correspondent which seems to mean that he reports on a variety of stories both nationally and internationally including being the first to bring us the long awaited biden news scooping even obama’s own text/email announcement.
recently married to cnn’s dana bash, king will be covering his sixth election this year. how is this election different from the other six he’s covered? “I think there is a lot of drama,” king said. “I do not remember as many important story lines heading into both conventions.”
media folks keep talking about how important this year’s elections are. i’m not disagreeing but it leads me to wonder, has there ever been a boring in-the-bag kind of presidential election?
