tom cruise totally agrees…
some russians want the tv show southpark off of the airwaves because it “could provoke ethnic conflict and spark inter-religious hatred.” the russian union of christians of evangelical faith hired 20 experts to analyze the program and its effects on youngins. according to konstantin bendas, the group’s spokesman, “south park is just one of many cartoons that need to be banned from open broadcast. . . as it insults the feelings of religious believers and incites religious and national hatred.” russian prosecutors agreed and are sending the case to court.
this isn’t the first time the show has caused controversy. if you remember, back in 2006 when tom cruise was couch jumping, he railed against an episode of southpark featuring his likeness called “trapped in the closet” about one of the show’s character’s decision to join scientology because it was “fun and free”.
