still no word about our tupac
former president alberto fujimori, the first democratically elected president of the country, was convicted of being the “indirect perpetrator” of at least 25 murders and two kidnappings back in the 1990s. the killings were associated with the eradication of the rebel group tupac amaru (where our tupac got his name) and the even more dangerous sendero luminoso (a.k.a. shining path). the 70 year old fuji (his nickname) was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment and is subject to fines ranging from $7K-20K for each victim.
fuji, of course, maintains his innocence.
