life isn’t so tough on the streets if you’re part of the london branch of the gang. ever since the metropolitan police implemented a stop and search program, violent knife crime has been reduced by 1/3 and the number of teenage murders have been cut in half compared with last year. Here are the vital statistics of the plan:
• 24K teenagers have been searched each month,
• more than 10K of them have been arrested
• 90% of them were charged
while the police are no doubt thrilled with the results, deputy police commissioner tim godwin said that too many kids were getting involved in such crimes and that they’d need to keep working the program to make sure that it’s stopped. like above, maybe they’ll start singing instead of stabbing.
