thank you, reader(s)
this is the 1000th post on sacred bird. when we, (180 and 630) started this blog back in march, 2008 we wanted to:
- fill the days at our mind-numbingly boring workplace (yes, we used to work in the same prison office).
- find a way to express all the love we had for news and the people who report it in particular, for anderson cooper.
- find ways to make people smarter (or as the awl says ‘less stupid’) with a little ‘news you can use’.
our model is simple, in lieu of writing about EVERYTHING in the news, find a few interesting stories each day to keep you informed and interested about the world we live in and encourage you to share them with the people you know. over almost two years, we’ve covered everything from media, to politics, to business and the economy, to science and technology, to culture, and the world. this week we’ll highlight our favorite stories we’ve covered and encourage you to tell us about ones you particularly liked or hated.
long story short, thank you dear reader (ok, couple of readers) for keeping sb going and we look forward to sharing another 1000 posts with you very soon.
