healthy and good for you, bla, bla, bla

greecethe british journal of psychiatry confirmed again that um, food that’s good for you is better than food that’s bad for you.  the research showed that people that eat a mediterranean diet–those full of fruit, vegetables, cereals and olive oil–were less likely (by 30%) to get depressed than people who eat the high fat, high crap diets.  not only do these foods keep people from depression, they help to increase memory, learning, and concentration.

i won’t bore you with the tips about eating protein, staying away from empty calories, and remaining hydrated but i will remind you of some foods that are guaranteed to keep you happy: bananas (they produce serotonin) green veggies like broccoli and cabbage have folate which protects against the blues, and nuts and seeds have a lot of magnesium which helps to produce serotonin.

i was really surprised cocoa krispies weren’t on the list, given the most recent claims about the benefits.
