no sign of daryl hannah either

google denies that an apparent grid of cities and streets found in a google earth image the lost city of atlantis.  a google rep said that “what users are seeing is an artifact of the data collection process. bathymetric ( or sea floor terrain) data is often collected from boats using sonar to take measurements of the sea floor…the lines reflect the path of the boat as it gathers the data. the fact there are blank spots between each of these lines is a sign of how little we really know about the world’s oceans.” google does take credit though for  google earth discoveries like a forest in mozambique and an ancient roman villa.

atlantis was first written about by the philosopher plato more than 2000 years ago–he discussed the city’s great wealth, modernity and beauty.  there’s considerable debate about where it is located, some say it’s off the coasts of cuba, corwall, england, gibraltar, or the middle of the atlantic.
