now i understand the couch jumping…

every day, somewhere between 1 and 3000 new dads in america become victims paternal postpartum depression (ppd) , “they can’t stand to be around their baby…they can’t stand the smell or the sound of their child screaming.” when rob sandler became a dad, he fell victim to ppd. wife: “something didn’t feel right,” he remembered. “i felt like a lot of loss of control of my life…a feeling of trappedness came over me and it would not lighten up. it kept getting worse and worse as the days went on.”sandler’s wife traci, who was recovering from a c-section at the time, recognized something was wrong almost immediately, “at first I wanted to slap him across the face,” she said. “but he said ‘this is not normal’ and he realized he needed help.” rob and traci got rob some help and his twice-a-week couch sessions coupled with anti-depression help to ease his anxiety. doctors definitely did not prescribe face-slapping.

i hope tom cruise doesn’t get all hormonal and sue us like he did those guys from southpark.
