it’s a long way down
if you’re standing on a bridge and contemplating jumping, you should be careful of who comes out to try to talk you down. chen fuchao was standing on a bridge in southern china when lai jiansheng broke through the barriers, shook his hand and then gave him a hand (pushed him down). luckily for chen, the police had already setup a inflated cushion and he only suffered minor injuries. explaining why he did what he did, lai told the xinhua news agency ”They do not really dare to kill themselves. Instead, they just want to raise the relevant government authorities’ attention to their appeals.” i guess i’d be a little pissed to if some guy was on a bridge and it caused traffic to come to a standstill for more than 5 hours.
